Yellowstone !

Jimmy, Jeff and our fishing buddies Alan and Mike just returned from our annual trip to visit John and Laine McGarity and fish the Yellowstone area.

We fished the Madison in and out of the Park, the Gallatin, Gibbon, Firehole, Lamar and Soda Butte as well as the Gardiner. We even took Unicoi guide Stefan Manole on a busman's holiday to float the Henry's Fork.

If you are planning a trip to that area in the next few weeks, feel free to stop by the shop for some fresh intel.

Cool Weekend

We are going to have a relatively cool summer weekend.

Watch the forecast and get out there in between rain showers. The streams in the mountains should fish well the next few days

UO Fishing Report - 8/10/19

While most north Georgia streams are low and warm, there are still some good trout fishing opportunities for anglers still stuck on salmonids.

DNR continues stocking a good number of cold, higher elevation streams and chilly tailwaters where the water temps stay under 70 degrees. It’s best to fish them in the morning shade.

Option 2 is to hike way uphill for blueline wild trout. The number of rises and beautiful colors of streambred trout more than compensate for their small size. A short rod, short (7.5 foot, 4x) leader, and a few dries (size 14 or 16 stimulators, elk hair Caddis, or parachute Adams) are all you need for a successful blueline trip. That is...

As long as you bring your Stealth A-game!

Summer Stripers

Nice evening at the Bend. Stuck 3, landed 2, even though I left half my flies at the house lol. Thanks
Jimmy Harris and Unicoi Outfitters. Y'all never disappoint.

Sincerely,

Kevin M.

Bend Stripers At Dusk and Dawn

So, the striper fishing was slow yesterday morning with only two landed. But right before dark last evening Dredger brought NINE to hand.  Largest was 32 inches! Go figure.
