Improving Conditions

@john_gouker from “Gouker Fly Fishing” came down south and enjoyed a couple days of fishing with UO guide, George Mac.

Guide Flies

Join us this Thursday, March 7th for a fly tying night at the shop!

UO guide Ron Thomas is going to be tying a few of his favorite North Georgia guide flies. These flies are simple to tie, but extremely effective at catching fish. If you are a beginner fly tyer this will be a great time to learn! Just bring your vise, tying tools, and a spool of thread and we will cover the materials. Ron will start tying at 6pm but feel free to come early and tie a few of your own patterns. We look forward to seeing you Thursday evening.

Intro to Flyfishing

New to fly fishing and wanting to learn more to help you on the water?We still have some spots open for our “Intro To Fly Fishing class” this Saturday March 2nd.

The class will be from 9am-4pm. The first couple hours of the class we go over rigging, knots, and terminology and the second half of the class is all on the water instruction.
Lunch and all equipment is provided. The cost is $175 per person. In addition, If anyone taking place decides they want to buy anything from the shop you will receive 15% off during the day of the class.

Tying Time

Well, it’s been a rough week for anglers with all the rain. Luckily we just got a big shipment of tying materials in the shop from @harelinedubbin to keep you occupied till the water comes down. Swing by the shop this weekend for all your tying needs. Or better yet bring your vise and some supplies to the shop tomorrow and tie up some bugs and talk fishing with us.

Montana Trout

We are excited to have Dave Blackburn owner of Kootenai Angler at the shop on the evening of January 30th to discuss "Trout Fishing Opportunities in Northern Montana". Dave will begin his presentation around 6 pm, but we encourage all to come early to join in fellowship with other anglers. This is sure to be a great evening! Two hours in the pouring rain and right before dusk it quits and Lanier is like glass.

Winter Window

"The calm before the storm". The river finally receded enough for us to get out before more rain came through. With the pre-frontal conditions, the river really showed out!

Farm Tail

Noontootla Creek at "the Farm" showed out yet again yesterday. With all the recent rain, our smaller creeks around the area are fishing great!

Shoulda Known Better

Nice evening on the lake yesterday. Lanier stripers were deep and not interested in eating...until we left just before dark. Our friends Josh England and Keith Ohrstrom boated several right after we pulled out. Ain't that the way it always goes!
